FEDERAL BENEFITS


Our office provides a wide range of services for the U.S. Social Security Administration and other Federal agencies (Veterans Administration, Office of Personnel Management, etc.). Some of our main responsibilities are to assist individuals living in Spain to file applications for benefits, request Social Security Number cards, obtain earnings records and in general, provide expert and personalized information on the Social Security program.

 Federal benefits services closed on fridays

Effective Friday, May 16th, the FBU section of the Embassy will be closed on Fridays. In addition, our regular walk-in hours, from Monday through Thursday, will change to 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. However, our telephone service will remain unchanged and continue to be 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM., Monday through Friday.

The US Social Security program provides insurance against the loss of income due to retirement, death or disability. The US system is relative new compared to many European national pension systems (read more).
