U.S. CITIZEN WARDEN MESSAGE

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT - VISA PAGE SERVICE CHANGES

The following Warden Message was disseminated to U.S. citizens on January 8, 2007

As of January 1, 2007 the Consular Agencies in the consular district of the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain (Fuengirola, La Coruņa, Las Palmas, Sevilla and Valencia) are no longer able to add additional visa pages to U.S. passports. The Consular Agency in Palma de Mallorca has been unable to add additional visa pages to U.S. passports since December 12, 2006. Both the American Citizen Services Unit at the Embassy in Madrid and the Consulate General in Barcelona can still add additional visa pages.

The application for additional visa pages, the DS-4085, is available online for download at: http://travel.state.gov/passport/forms/ds4085/ds4085_2662.html.  The application and passport may be submitted in person, by certified mail or by courier by U.S. citizens presently in Spain. If submitting by mail or courier, please be sure to include a self-addressed stamped envelope for certified mail or pre-paid courier envelope. Any applications and passports received without return postage or pre-paid courier envelope will be returned by the MRW courier company with payment due on delivery.

While it is still possible to obtain and submit the DS-4085 through our consular agents, all applicants who do so need to remember that it will take longer than submitting the form and passport directly to the Embassy in Madrid or the Consulate General in Barcelona.
